Your First One Way Taxi Booking: Everything to Check Before You Confirm
Booking an outstation one way taxi for the first time is a strange mix of excitement and mild dread. You are going somewhere. Good. But you are also handing over a chunk of money to a driver you have never met, for a car you have never seen, on a promise that the final bill will match the opening quote.
That second part is where most first-time bookers get nervous. And the worry is not made up. Outstation cab stories are full of sudden extra charges, cars that do not match the photo, and drivers who show up late or not at all. Before you confirm any one way taxi booking, a few things are worth checking. Not a long list. But the right list.
Is the Per Kilometre Rate Clearly Stated
This is the first line to look at. A good one-way taxi booking tells you the per-kilometre rate upfront, with the vehicle class attached.
Kushi Taxi keeps it simple. Sedan at ₹14 per km. SUV at ₹19 per km. That is the rate card. No hidden multipliers. If an operator quotes you a total fare without telling you the per km rate, ask for the breakdown. A real operator should have no problem sharing it. Anything that sounds like a flat lump sum without distance math behind it is worth double-checking.
Does the Quote Include Driver Allowance and Tolls
Two extras always sit on top of the distance fare. Driver allowance. And tolls.
Kushi Taxi charges a flat ₹400 driver allowance per trip. Tolls get billed at actuals, one way only for one-way trips. Parking and interstate permit charges, if any, come in at actuals, too.
Here’s how a sample quotation for a trip from Chennai to Trichy would look on a sedan:
- Distance charge: 320 kilometers at ₹14 = ₹4,480
- Driver gratuity: ₹400
- Toll charges: Charged as per actuals on NH38
Without any added surge charge or weekday premium. You will be charged as quoted during booking.

What Is the Minimum Billing Rule
Most one-way operators run on a minimum billing rule. Kushi Taxi sets this at 130 km for one-way trips. Routes shorter than that still get charged for 130 km.
In cases of long distances such as Chennai-Madurai, Chennai-Coimbatore, or Coimbatore-Ooty, there is no need for this since the distance has crossed the minimum limit. But for smaller routes, it is best to inquire before booking.
Are the Driver and Vehicle Details Shared in Advance
Getting the driver’s name, photo, vehicle number, and phone number before the ride is basic. Not a premium feature. Just the normal thing to expect.
Kushi Taxi provides information regarding the driver and the type of vehicle two hours prior to the pick-up. This information gives you an idea about who is picking you up, what kind of car he drives, and what time he will reach your gate. If an operator cannot confirm vehicle details until the driver is already at your door, that is a yellow flag worth taking seriously.
How Flexible Is the Cancellation Policy
Plans change, flights are delayed, meetings get postponed, and all this makes having a good cancellation policy important. At Kushi Taxi, you get the liberty to cancel for free up to 24 hours before your pickup. However, in case your ride has reached your destination, there will be a one-time charge of ₹300. That buffer of 24 hours before pickup is enough for most real-life schedule shifts. Check whether any operator you book with gives you the same room.
Confirm the Booking Channel and Response Time
Three booking channels are standard for Kushi Taxi. Phone call. WhatsApp. Online form on kushitaxi.com.
Confirmation should arrive within 10 minutes of the booking request. If an operator takes longer or wants an upfront advance to even confirm, something is off. A booking confirmation is not supposed to be a favour.
All three channels connect to the same support desk that runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Check the Payment Options
Payment flexibility tells you the operator trusts their own service. No healthy operator forces full advance payment on a route they run every day. GST invoice is necessary for office-paid journeys. Don’t forget to ask for it during the booking process itself, not after the journey.
A Few More Things Before Hitting the Confirm Button
Pickup location along with a landmark. No pin codes here! Your driver finds houses faster when you mention a shop or temple name nearby.
Drop address, spelt clearly. Tamil Nadu has more than one Tiruppur, more than one Palani-sounding town. Avoid surprises at the destination.
Passenger count. Four adults with luggage is sedan territory. Five or six is SUV territory. Overcrowding a sedan ruins the ride for everyone.
Pickup time with a buffer. Add 15 to 30 minutes to either side of a flight or train timing.
